Idea

We are come up with a solution to all these problem in the single model. We proposed a IOT based Street Light System. Each unit in our system equipped with Sunlight Sensor, Fault detection, IoT controller, and the power consumption monitoring. Our module will sense the sunlight and changes brightness accordingly, fault detection will detect the fault and immediately send a massage to concerned utility. So that corrective action will be taken. Which brighten up the world and lowers the energy consumption. It also good as per environment point of view because the use of LEDs.

Market

Market:-The Indian lighting industry is on a rapid growth path. The replacement of basic and inefficient incandescent, halogen, fluorescent lamps with modern LED lights will reduce electricity consumption.
According to a report by ELCOMA, the lighting industry is expected to reduce energy consumption for lighting from the present 18% of total power consumption to 13% by 2020 by introducing more energy efficient products and working more closely with the government to execute various schemes and awareness programmes.According to research, India LED Lighting market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 26.6% during 2017-2023.
The Government of India launched an initiative in 2016 to replace conventional lights by LED lights by deploying 770 million bulbs and 35 million street lights by 2019. Further, under DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), 273 lakhs LED bulbs have to be distributed to BPL households. Additionally, prices of LED lights are also expected to decline in the coming years, which would drive the growth of the market over the next six years.

Problem or Opportunity

At night time whereas the street lights are used to brighten up the road. But as these streetlights are continuously ‘ON’ at whole night time. It constantly consumed electricity either we need light or not.It is wastage of electricity.
Other most often problem with the street lights is the fault in the streetlight and it will get diffused which may lead accident. And faulty streetlight will consume more power than what it needed and it may short to another lights on the line. So the fault detection of light must be as quick as possible.

Solution (product or service)

Here we propose an IoT based streetlight monitoring and controlling system with low-power consumption, faulty light detection. The system consists of a sunlight sensing device that makes light automatically changes its brightness accordingly to the sunlight. Each of the units has a fault sensing device, if the fault occurs to any streetlight then immediately a message will be sent to the concerned utility about the faulty street light simultaneously to the server through IoT where data analysis to be done. It also has human presence detection sensor. At late night, Light intensity increased to 100% if human presence detected otherwise it dim to 40% level. The main purpose behind this project is to save the world from being in dark. Our project is equipped with realtime server data logging, so using data analysis we can predict the suspicious activities happening in any isolated or sensitive areas. For ex. There is an abandoned area such as factory, so at late night there should not be any human activity but our module showing human presence in that area. So it will predict the activity as suspicious activity and it will inform to the police about the same. We can also add some Machine learning algorithms in this so that the module will automatically learn which area is abandoned and which is not, how much human traffic would be there in particular areas and acts accordingly so everything will run automatically without human interaction with the machine. And by this, we can save the city, the world from all sort of suspicious activities happening at night time.

Competitors

As such there is not existing alternatives available in India but some lights only have a light detection resistance and human monitoring sensor but not a complete module. so there are no such competitors available in market.
