• The developing world's food choices are based on taste, cost & HEALTH is an after-thought. This is an inefficient process for choosing food, and the result of this process is poor nutrition and wellness. At WA2COOK, we aim to address this problem by connecting consumers to tasty, healthy and affordable food recipes from different chefs & food blogs. We believe people want to make healthy decisions, and we know how to help them achieve a balanced life


• We are a passionate team with experience from MIT-Tsinghua Labs, Mercedes R&D and Paypal building a food engine for the world.

Current Status

• Our Android app has 65,000+ downloads globally with 430+ reviews at an average of 4.7 star rating
• WA2COOK iOS App has been submitted for review.
• WA2COOK web version in development for October end launch.

Our Initial Target Market will be GenY (aged 15-35) which accounts to 2.45 Billion worldwide. GenY India constitute 75% share of Internet users in India. Also 75% of Web searches happen on mobile and 72% of these searches are for food.

This is an inefficient process for choosing food, and the result of this process is poor nutrition and wellness. At WA2COOK, we aim to address this problem by connecting consumers to tasty, healthy and affordable food recipes from different chefs and food blogs. We believe people want to make healthy decisions, and we know how to help them achieve a balanced life.

Solution (product or service)

We created WA2COOK to empower people change their dietary behaviour as a means of preventive healthcare. We seek to empower them to make healthy day2day decisions through our mobile optimised interactive Webcards & Smart Search. We basically free-up user’s mind space by standardising evaluation of certain key parameters (nutrition info of recipes & more) through ML & NLP and leave only “informed-decision-making” to the user. We see system of dietary & nutrition based decision-making as an opportunity to connect consumers to tasty, healthy and affordable food recipes fr om different chefs and food blogs around the globe.

• WA2COOK offers the user to search recipes by Ingredients/Allergies, filter by Nutrition, Cuisines, Courses, Time & Chefs/Blogs. We also delight our users through our smart wh ere they can skip filters by directly querying "WA2COOK with chicken under 400-cal for lunch"

• Our search results are a simple list of tasty, healthy and affordable recipes from different chefs and food blogs. These results are presented as what we at Wa2Cook call a “Webcard.” These Webcards focus on packaging image, nutrition info and other parameters of the recipe that help the user take an efficient decision.

• Once the decision is made, we address the last issue for our users: the fear of cooking. Our hands-free assistant simplifies the cooking process by offering instructions via video, voice or simple text, whichever the user prefers.

The first competitor considered would be Pinterest. People use Pinterest for inspiration due to the variety of recipes offered visually. It is very helpful when you are planning your recipe in advance. However, if you are hungry and need a recipe in the next 30 minutes, the wide variety of options worries people with choice angst. They need specific options or else they are overwhelmed.

The second competitor is google. Google is the world’s most powerful search engine, It is very helpful when you know exactly what recipe you want. It is very good for answering specific questions, such as “how to make Shakshuka?” Unfortunately, Google doesn’t have the ability to create a simple list of what you should cook if you have tomatoes.

Also it is very difficult to find healthy recipes through pinterest or google. WA2COOK sees the system of dietary & nutrition based decision-making as an opportunity to connect consumers to tasty, healthy and affordable food recipes.

In terms of technology, Our Specialised Recipe Crawler, Recipe Parser, Nutrition Model and Food Recommendation Algorithms give us a major competitive advantage.
